About The Project.
A year of trouble, postponing, code problems and marketing incompetence, and with it success, quality algorithmics and meeting time demands, that's how I describe Dotelp.

I'm Gil Berger, im 14th years old, CEO, Dotelp, and this is my project. However, I can't say I've worked on it completely by myself, because all the friends, supporting staff of Startupseeds, programmers, designers, amazing hi-tech people whom I bugged relentlessly, were always there to help, support and answer questions.

It all started about a year ago, when my brother came to me with a suggestion to build a site that reminds people of the endings of website addresses. I was skeptic at first, and couldn't understand the need for such a site. Why? What would be the benefit? There's Google, isn't there? And the usual reactions. But there's one difference between this project and Google - I don't use algorithmics in order to display the order of the search results, and I don't have as many search results as Google does, a total of 6-9 search results per page. Furthermore, I display a snapshot of the websites I list, which helps you choose the site you are really looking for.
From this point a year's work started, with its beginning being developing the idea, trying to create a design that would fit the goal, and yet would be very convenient and aesthetic, preparing the design for programming, and of course the song in my heart when I reached the stage where the site started to resemble what I had pictured in my mind. This is where the problems began.

For a short period of time, I had a very simple and convenient solution for the system, in terms of algorithm and programming, and it worked beautifully. What a surprise! But... it took an average of 46 seconds to display the results! This is why I decided, inevitably, to seek a different solution, and I got it, it displayed the results four times faster than before - an average of 12 seconds. It was astounding to see how quickly the results came up, but that wasn't quick enough. Reediting and a new perspective on the system have made it possible for me to reduce the runtime and reach the more reasonable speed for displaying the results we have today: an average of 6 seconds for the first search, followed by a few hundredths of a second for additional searches.

The project, up to a month ago, operated on my basic design that looked like a preliminary draft of a new website, and the entire design consisted of a search box.

This is the opportunity to thank the people who really made my days good with this project, Nir Azuelos, for programming the plug-ins for the browsers, the beta testers, and the staff of Startupseeds, who undoubtedly had to tolerate me for the past four months in which they accompanied me, my business mentor Sharon Carmel, and of course my friends and family, who contributed much to my spiritual development and took care of my mental state, when the nights became days.
